Experience CDO: The Nature Experience of the South

Non-mindanaoan especially to backpack travelers would see Cagayan de Oro as a typical province with trees surrounding the highway, simple houses, simple living and greetings from the people with a simple smile.

Well literally, a greeting to a traveler with a big smile is already a typical attitude for kagay-anons as this city is regarded as the City of Golden Friendship.





CDO is home to more than 600,000 people living both downtown and uptown. spanning from east to west, the city boast itself for leisure to people embracing mother earth. Tourism is a booming sector in the city. Although, eco-adventure destination does not contain the bulk of tourism but having CDO as a primary destination to Northern Mindanao is already a good start.

Notable destination for leisure and an adventure in CDO are Mapawa Nature Park where you can go out river trekking, see the great view of the mountains, relax and unwind, horseback riding, climbing down the falls and Eco-village where you can see tribal houses, costumes and even native people!
