Corpus Christi then relied on the second quarter rally led by point guard Joel Cagulangan to cut Ateneo's lead down to eight, 29-21, and remain within striking distance in the third period. Eric Tuadles and Joachim Weill, however, conspired for nine points in the final quarter to secure the victory for the Blue Knights.
Eric Tuadles finished with 11 points and Weill added 10 for Ateneo.
Corpus Christi was paced by Jose Sabandal who had 18 points in the game. Cagulangan added 12.
