Laguindingan Airport to use VFR for planned soft opening in January 2013

Based on the latest report update by the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) dated October 2012 but uploaded on the web just yesterday, the planned soft opening of Laguindingan Airport in January next year will use Visual Flight Rule (VFR).
By definition, Visual flight rules (VFR) are a set of regulations under which a pilot operates an aircraft in weather conditions generally clear enough to allow the pilot to see where the aircraft is going. Specifically, the weather must be better than basic VFR weather minima, i.e. in visual meteorological conditions (VMC), as specified in the rules of the relevant aviation authority. The pilot must be able to operate the aircraft with visual reference to the ground, and by visually avoiding obstructions and other aircraft.

Clearly on the last section of the slide below, the planned soft opening is per instruction by DOTC Secretary Mar Roxas.

Although the report stated it is PLANNED, we may still have to hear the official announcement from the government. Below are more updates of the airport with clear pictures of various sections of the complex and the terminal building.

The special equipment inside the terminal have been installed as shown below.

From the slide below, only the seats for the waiting passengers remain to be put in place.

Below is the schedule for the preparatory activities for the planned soft opening in January 2013. Note that flight dry runs are set in December.
